Job Description

Overview:
Continental is seeking someone to lead our FORD sales account for Business Unit HEV. The products consist of Power Electronics (DCDC Converter and Inverter), Electric machines, Power Net systems, and relevant Control Functions.

Core Responsibilities:
• Facilitates interface between customer and Business Unit HEV in the NA region and globally to ensure that customer needs are met and that company standards are maintained
• Single point contact to the customer for all commercial matters
• Lead commercial interface for global customers whose purchasing lead and decisions are made from NA
• Coordination of global pricing and strategy with WW sales team
• Develop pricing structures that support overall market strategies
• Track volume and sales price information for projects
• Provide market intelligence to identify new development / business opportunities
• Maintains contact with customer and Continental, customer centers, program management, product responsible, engineering, purchasing, controlling and operations personnel.
• Prepares sales plan incl. specific goals, potentials, action plans and strategy for each customer account.
• Maintains accurate and updated customer sales forecast incl. ramp up/down planning.
• Prepares, organizes and hosts customer meetings and presentations.
• Prepares biweekly reports summarizing activities and results and special reports as required.
• Manage quote process from the internal and external (customer) side.
• Participates in establishing product pricing and position and leads customer negotiations.
• Handles and processes customer POs, TOs, LOIs and other sales relevant documents.
• Monitors and maintains customer portals as well as internal sales tools (BDT, QRDB ...).

Additional Responsibilities:
• Manage new business, acquisition and quotation
• Develop strategies for improved market share and improved financial status
• Develop quotes for products to review with Continental Automotive Executive Management and customer
• Develops strategic business plans to support market share objectives.
• Participates in and influences standards by participating in appropriate industry organizations
• Drives business development within assigned key accounts and/or markets.
• Guides operational units by providing marketing advice and leadership to ensure overall market effectiveness
• Understand, document, and convey customer technology and product strategies to support new product development

Core Capabilities:
• Up to date knowledge of automotive industry in NA with regards to customers, products, processes, etc.
• Exposure to managing customer relations, good communication skills and negotiation experience
• Ability to interface at all relevant levels of customer organization / flexibility to handle wide variety of activities
• Must be Independent and self-motivated
• Ability to effectively coach others
• Flexibility to travel up to 25%
• Fluent English is mandatory, German language skills are preferred

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline
• Minimum of 5 years of automotive technical sales and/or automotive engineering experience
• Minimum of 3 years of technical sales experience
• Experience in building customer relationships

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in engineering or MBA
• 5+ years of technical automotive sales experience
• 2+ years’ experience working with high voltage power electronics
