The algorithm engineer will develop highly complex radar algorithms as a part of an international development team for Continental's radar products to go into series production in the next few years.

Core Responsibilities:
Design, develop and validate new radar algorithm features such as:
­- Environment Modeling
­- Object Tracking
­- Object Classification
­- Road Feature Detection
- Manage requirements of features to be developed
- Manage requirements of existing features for new customer requests
- Optimize algorithm in terms of memory and runtime
- Develop tools to effectively validate new features

Radar algorithms are developed for the following features:
- Blind Spot Detection
- Lane Change Assist
Rear Cross Traffic Alert
Trailer Merge Assist
Occupant Safe Exit
Adaptive Cruise Control
Traffic Jam Assist
Crash Imminent Braking/Autonomous Emergency Braking

Additional Responsibilities:
The Algorithm Engineer might be required to also act as Function Delivery Owner in a project for up 30% of the time and be responsible for
- Planning
­- Tracking
­-Reviewing of the algorithm development. Job Requirements Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Engineering or Sciences or Computer Science
- High level of critical thinking and problem solving abilities (demonstrated in actual implementation of basic algorithms)
- Proficient in C programming
- Good Communication skills
- Ability to travel internationally and domestically

Preferred Qualifications:
-Knowledge of optimal estimation methods (e.g. Kalman filtering)
- Advanced degree (Masters/PhD) in related engineering field, mathematics, physics or computer science
- Experience with radar sensors
- In depth knowledge of tracking algorithms
- 3 years in algorithm development, (radar) tracking, or control strategies
- Proficient in scripting with python
- Proficient with Matlab/Simulink and code generation
- Proficient with Version Control Tools
- Proficient with Requirements Management Tools such as Doors
- Experience with (Automotive) Software Engineering -Processes (V-Cycle)
- Clean driving record and willingness to work with test vehicles
