Job Description

SUMMARY

Support development of mechanical packaging for automotive pressure sensors.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

•Identifies design issues and suggest design direction to management or other team members. Seeks appropriate guidance when uncertain or when problem is beyond personal expertise.
•May perform thermal, vibration, stress, and tolerance analyses on new or existing designs. Uses results to establish feasibility and make improvement recommendations.
•Conducts experiments using statistical tools and techniques to confirm analyses or evaluate designs against product requirements.
•Develops and presents test plans when problems arise, coordinates testing and data acquisition. Discusses results with immediate supervisor prior to publishing reports.
•Supports a typical automotive development launch process by assisting with DFMEA's, control plan, engineering reports, and product documentation.
•May travel to factory to assist with product launch, attend customer or supplier meetings.
•May spend time in a lab running experiments or building prototypes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
•0-1 years of relevant experience (through internships or co-op).
•Analytical problem solving skills, data acquisition skills, and ability to use statistical techniques.
•Basic computer skills including CAD (Pro­e is a plus), FEA, and common office applications.
•Utilizes computer, lab equipment/shop tools, measuring devices.
•Good interpersonal/communication skills and ability to operate within a team environment.
•Good organization/time management skills, including daily/weekly planning.
