Overview
Buyer will manage the direct material supplier base to the Continental Newport News plant, maintain supplier information and pricing in local production system, resolve supply issues, source new suppliers when needed, and generally maintain the relationship between our plant and our supply base.

Core Responsibilities
­ Analysis of plant savings (PPV) from Direct Materials
­ Overall responsibility of supplier relationships with plant

Additional Responsibilities
­ Request, analyze, and make strategic decisions about quotes from suppliers for new parts or design changes to existing parts
­ Complete comparison of suppliers for sourcing decisions
­ Negotiate/Create/Develop/Administer contracts for the supply of all production parts to Newport News plants
­ Maintenance of purchasing systems ­ SAP , Modias, Supply­On, Business Warehouse, and other Continental Systems
­ Updating material quantity planning for Purchasing department
­ Manage change orders through department
­ Calculation of surcharges for raw material
­ Occasional negotiation of contract pricing with Suppliers Job Requirements Required Qualifications
A four year BS or BA degree in Business, International Business, Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred), or related field required
Two years purchasing experience

Preferred Qualifications
Training in Negotiations, Program Management, Multi tasking, and organization skills preferred
Foreign language skills preferred
