Job Description

• This position is located at the Marysville plant which is the Worldwide Technical Center for conveyor belt design, development, and testing.
• The position provides a diverse background in the functions and needs of a manufacturing plant, as well as knowledge into the production and development of conveyor belting.
• It provides an excellent opportunity for a student to evaluate whether he or she prefers a plant environment to a corporate environment.
• The student will have the opportunity to learn about the physical properties, the overall manufacturing process, and the applications of conveyor belting.
• The assignment will also broaden the student's computer knowledge and computer programming skills.

• The Marysville physical test lab is equipped with a variety of state of the art testing equipment used to monitor the performance of both new and existing conveyor belting.
• The student will assist Lab Technicians in physical testing of conveyor belting. Types of tests include: dynamic modulus, tensile and elongation, belt rips and tears, fabric adhesion, etc.
• The student will learn how to perform the various tests as well as how the test affects the performance and future developments of conveyor belts.
• The student will also have the opportunity to work with design engineers in developing test procedures of new equipment and products.
• The student will have opportunity to use SAP for various purposes. Job Requirements • Completion of 1st year of college/university courses by Summer 2017 working towards BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree.
• 3.0 GPA
• Computer skills in Word and Excel.
