Overview:
The Passive Safety and Sensorics group in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking an Electronics Design Specialist to join the Engineering Design team. This individual will be tasked with supporting major US automotive manufacturers. A self-motivated individual is needed, with the skills and vision to provide technical direction and design solutions pertaining to electrical / embedded system design. The engineer must be able to work with minimal supervision in a challenging internal/customer environment and is expected to serve as a lead technical specialist to the customer and internal engineering teams.

Core Responsibilities
- All aspects of Automotive Electronics module (Embedded System) design from concept to production.
- Create and Lead Worst Case Circuit Analysis Documentation in a challenging customer environment.
- Work with DFMEA team to ensure product quality is met.
- Develop, maintain and communicate electronic hardware/system development content for complex projects.
- Lead all design activities.
- Develop, test and/or simulate all analog and digital circuits for automotive active suspension.
- Ensures that electrical design meets requirements, works with customers to ensure requirements are understood and tracked/fulfilled.
- Support Electronics Engineer in analyzing and troubleshooting modules, ie Warranty.
- A mindset for continuous quality and efficiency improvements.
- Can work both independently and in a team environment.
- Track/maintain BOM for Component Change/Termination notifications, develop and approve process for required component changes.
- Work closely with global software team, expected to create / understand / communicate all module electronic (Embedded System) related failsafe requirements to internal/customer.

Additional Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems in an effective manner, utilizing 8D problem solving methodologies.
- Provides technical support to production, marketing, sales, and/or other departments.
- Some amount of domestic and international travel will be required.
- Understand and utilize electronic component datasheets.

Job Requirements Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in analog and power electronics design and development.
- 3+ years' experience in Automotive Electronic module (Embedded System) design.
- Zuken/PSpice/schematic capture tool proficient.
- Lab experience/certification with oscilloscope, soldering.
- Innovator to solve difficult/complex problems.
- For One Another attitude.

Preferred Qualifications
- Masters' degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 7+ years of experience in analog and power electronics design and development.
