ESH Specialist

Core Responsibilities
• Define, control, keep actual and guarantee the application of the Safety management system, issuing rules, standards, procedures and working instruction according corporate standards, OHSA 18001/ISO 45001 standards and risk assessment.
• To prepare and follow up the Industrial license processes, for internal and external expansion projects, on way to get authorizations for investments and the accomplishment of legal aspects required for the plant installations
• Assist with the review of needed investments for safety area and define / propose the annual investment plan related to the area, for materials, machinery and industrial installations through auditing check the results and defining actions and investments.
• To define monitoring and PPE development programs related to safety, industrial hygiene and occupational health (emphasis on electrical safety, noise, confined space, LOTO, dust, gas, chemical exposures, etc). Conduct accident investigation and support Workers Compensation program review and incident closure. Assist with cross-site audits as requested.
• Assist to define and control the procedures related to Fire Protection, Emergency Response, and Medical Response
• Assist to define and control the procedures related to hazardous material (safety data sheets, work instructions, first aid and disposal of the waste).
• Assist with security management, including establishing security management procedure and instruction, and monitor and evaluate the security performance to the established standard.
• Establish the contractor safety management program. Participate in the pre-selection review of potential vendors and monitor the performance of on-site contractors.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety or related field
• 3+ years of experience minimum in the safety and health field
• Implementation projects on ESH Management Systems - OHSAS 18001 and Auditing systems
• Knowledge of Legislation related to ESH, Fire protection and Industrial operations
• Team working and human relations, influences, human behavior, sociology
• Capacity of communication and ideas selling
• Experience with HSE management Systems
• Knowledge and use of Quality Management Systems
• Knowledge about process flow and handling with the official entities
• Projects development and follow up
• Risks analyses and knowledge about Insurance company requirements

• Environmental experience is beneficial but not required.
