Facilities and Utilities Manager

Overview
In this role you will manage the site infrastructure comprising of generation, delivery and consumption of energy with a focus on reliability and continuous improvement of the existing processes to ensure a reduction in the specific energy consumption of the site.

Core Responsibilities
• Understand the working principles of all Utilities systems
• Develop technical expertise in all matters to do with energy and its related environmental control
Improving energy efficacy and reducing energy use, thereby reducing costs
• Developing and maintaining effective monitoring and reporting, setting of departmental KPI's
• Developing and implementing strategies relating to renewable energy and corporate sustainable development
• Promoting sustainable energy initiatives and project concepts to the management
• Involvement on corporate social responsibility issues
• Conduct energy audits, develop and present full business plan for approval
Constant feedback to employees on the effective and efficient use of energy
• Ensure the implementation of the Energy Campaign
• Manage contacts with suppliers and contractors
• Complying to the central Engineering requirements
• Establish and lead the team for running the normal operations of all the Utilities systems
• Develop and control the annual energy budget for the site
• Preparing detailed schedules of work, feasibility studies and cost estimates for projects
• Establish and lead team to ensure energy efficiency throughout all departments• Ensure adherence to the best practices & standards in the company as well as the legal requirements as stipulated by local authorities
• Establish priorities for building renovations
• Manage Financial feasibility studies including project payback, IRR etc.
• Responsible for compiling a book of requirements "Plant Specific in line with MES" and compiling Capital Request documents
• Preparation of project budgets
• Evaluate standard improvement projects with suppliers and modify the scope on case by case basis if needed
• Explore new improvement project concepts with equipment/system suppliers
Job Requirements Basis Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering Mechanical, Electrical engineering or Energy Supply
• 5+ years of experience in similar position or respective experience within company
• Experience with steam boilers, compressors, chillers, pump systems as well as electrical distribution
• Management of a technical team for at least 3 years
Motivational skills beneficial to ensure commitment to efficiency from entire utilities team and be energy champions
• Ability interface with international colleagues or suppliers.
