Job Description

The described position is for a Technical Project Leader who will lead an electronics hardware project team to design, develop, test and release electronics for battery controls. The position is located in Dearborn, MI, but occasional travel to company/customer locations both within the U.S. and abroad may be required.

Core Responsibilities:
• Coordination and management of the project technical development team.
• Be capable of managing tasks to meet project milestones.
• Contact person for product specific technical questions.
• Reporting the status of hardware development activities within project.
• Collaboration in regular project budget reviews.
• Supports the preparation of project and gate reviews.
• Collaboration in the processing of the requirements specifications for the product specification.
• Regular participation in and leading of design team meetings (technical development team).
• Translate customer requirements into innovative and cost effective design solutions.
• Interact on a technical level with customers.
• Demonstrate proficiency with design tools to support schematic capture, circuit simulation and worst case analysis.
• Operate with minimal direction and demonstrate team leadership.

Additional Responsibilities:
• Execute tasks according to corporate and business unit processes.
• Work in a global team environment to support business unit goals and objectives.
• Drive and guide module architectural and design decisions.
• Contribute to the creation of new processes and solutions, identify problems and determine alternate solutions.
• Support DV, PV, DFMEA, and APQP activities.
• Support production launch activities related to ICT and EOL testing.


Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline
• Minimum of 5+ years of automotive power electronics product development experience
• At least 3+ years of experience supporting DV/PV, DFMEA, and APQP activities
• Experience with high voltage electronics

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years of automotive power electronics engineering and development experience
• 3+ years of hybrid vehicle engineering experience
• Experience with battery management system development
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with electronic inverter and converter testing
