Overview:
The Systems Engineer in this position will be responsible for supporting the technical aspects for the design and development products such as Head Up Displays. This role incorporates, but is not limited to requirements analysis/management, product integration and product verification and validation.

Core Responsibilities:
• Assist in creating and/or maintaining requirements engineering deliverables such as: Requirements Analysis Matrix (RAM), Performance Specification (PS) and Requirements Traceability Matrix per Continental standards.
• Develop and maintain the Product Integration Plan (PIP) and Product Integration Feature List (PIFL) deliverables to document the release planning of internal and external samples.
• Assist in overall Product Verification and Validation planning activities. Collaborate with Continental Product Test Engineering, Reliability/EMC lab and customers to achieve agreed upon test flows for development, DV, PV as well as corrective action testing for the assigned projects.
• Lead the interface between Continental Engineering and Resident Engineering for lighting/optical measurements, appearance approvals and other customer related tasks and events for production part approval. Schedule the necessary meetings and follow up activities to ensure timely closure of issues.

Additional Responsibilities:
• Develop prototype work instructions/methods (SW flashing, calibration etc.) for prototype sample builds. Create and maintain prototype delivery notes for each sample build.
• Execute technical and logistical aspects for sample product integration, including active alignment of HUD products.
• Ensure the correct calibration data and part revision levels are integrated into the defined sample ensuring that internal Continental prototype development processes are followed.
• Maintain environmental tester test scripts to support DV and PV testing schedules.
• Ensure that the overall lighting performance of the product (as a system) complies with all customer specifications for lighting and appearance.
• Manage the development and updates of internal interface specifications with Continental engineering/manufacturing disciplines to ensure completion in a timely and accurate manner.
• Lead efforts to coordinate the technical aspects of engineering changes when requested directly from customers and/or stemming from internal requirements and sources. Schedule Change Control Boards and document the change implementation plan.

Core Capabilities:
• Familiarity with Requirements Engineering processes accepted in Automotive or Defense Electronics industries.
• Provides support to other Systems Engineers in this process area. Job Requirements Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Optics or related technical discipline
• 2+ years of automotive engineering experience, supporting OEM development
• Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience related to LED display, Head Up Display units, and/or Instrument Cluster Panels
• Experienced with Electronic display technology - understanding the various types (ASTN, TFT etc.) and the advantage/disadvantage of each.
• Experienced with Optical/electronic laboratory equipment and measurement techniques (oscilloscopes, vehicle bus tools etc.).
• Understanding of Engineering theory & principles of design for lighting and electronics (basic circuit design for LEDs, FET drivers, A/D sampling etc.).
• Experience working in an Automotive/military OEM/Tier 1 product development process for electronic components or systems.
• Experience using IBM Rational DOORS, SynergyRM or equivalent requirements management tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Masters degree in Engineering
• Project planning tools (MS Project)
• Product tester design concepts.
• Broad technical expertise in automotive electrical systems.
• Familiarity with Quality Operating Systems (FMEA, PPAP and 8D problem solving).
