Job Description

Leads HR staff in providing HR support for the location. Provides executive, consultant and business partner support to line management by driving formal organizational effectiveness and business review processes and by partnering with HR colleagues to ensure the effective delivery of HR services and solutions for respective management groups. Partners with internal service providers to ensure recruiting, benefit support, training & development, EEO/Affirmative action (U.S. Locations only), and compensation support from NAFTA HR Central Functions Group to meet the needs of the business. Partners with managers to ensure fair and effective employee relations. HRBP responsibility for Managers in the location.

Essential Functions:
Acts as the primary contact partner of management for the Sun Prairie location. Provides expert coaching to management and ensures timely, effective execution of all local operational personnel work (hiring/staffing decisions, local organizational design, performance management, compensation decisions, HRD processes, employee relations and separation processes). Ensures compliance for HR policies and practices as well as compliance to employment laws and regulations in area of responsibility (including record retention). Guides employees and superiors in employee relations conflict resolution (i.e. absenteeism management, working schedules coordination, performance improvement action planning). Contributes as a member of the client group’s management team (executive level) to business strategy, operational goal setting, and budgeting to reach business objectives and expectations.

Ensures the labor relations strategy is implemented, as agreed with local management, to mitigate the potential negative impact of any issues on continued operations. Oversee grievance process and other local conflicts resulting from the labor agreements to determine if contractual violations have occurred and implement appropriate remedies to grieving parties.

With team support, manages HR support (as above) to all client groups in the location. Ensures alignment of HR policies, processes and resources to serve all client groups in the location.

Acts as a voice for the assigned client business into the HR management team (policy and process owners) regarding marketplace trends affecting HR, demographic development, and client business needs. Introduces/ implements new HR related services & processes into assigned organization.

Leads the location HR organization which includes organizational goal setting, managing budget, allocating resources, employee retention, employee recognition, performance management, and professional development of the HR Team.

Coordinates the interface to service centers (SC) regarding the full portfolio of HR related services (e.g. recruitment and payroll) and coordinates the interface to centers of expertise (CoE) regarding the full portfolio of HR related processes (e.g. Compensation, Benefits and Human Resource Development (HRD)).

Additional Functions:

Leads local employee recognition and employee involvement initiatives, monitors core services as cafeteria, employee transportation, outsourcing company, medical services, etc. as well as other HR initiatives


Bachelor Degree in related field required
Masters Degree in related field preferred
Operational HR experience including 5+ years experience in a business partner role with significant experience in recruiting and employee relations. Experience in Central Functions and Manufacturing business environments is desired.
