Position Description:

Performs human resources and human relations functions to help build a strong organizational team of motivated and competent contributing employees. Manages day to day operations of the Human Resource office through administration of policies, procedures and programs. Responsibility in all functional areas including: training and development, benefits, compensation, Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and recruiting.

Essential Functions:

• Manage the recruiting and selection processes and major elements of hourly and office non­exempt selection
• Enter data in a correct and timely manner into the Human Resources Information System.
• Plan and direct employee relations and recognition events
• Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the Union leadership
• Experience with union contract negotiations, grievance resolution, up to and including arbitration, is preferred
• Assist in conflict resolution with all levels of the organization
• Responsible for deploying performance management and improvement systems
• Performs all employee orientation, development, and training
• Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by complying with corporate and governmental regulations
• Must possess outstanding interpersonal relations skills, including the ability to resolve conflicts.
• Must be able to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a fast­paced environment and adapt to frequent interruption and change.
• Ability to work with all levels of the organization required.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related business or social science required
2+ years of HR experience
Strong preference for individuals with experience in a manufacturing environment
Functional knowledge of labor and employment laws (NLRA, FMLA, ADA, Affirmative Action, FLSA, HIPPA)
Broad understanding of benefit programs

Preferred Qualifications:
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM­SCP) or Professional of Human Resources (PHR) ­ Preferred
