Job Description

The Transmission group in Deer Park, IL is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join the team. A self­starter student, interested in automotive technology, is needed to assist the group in the design and development of embedded controllers for automotive applications. Under the guidance of the senior engineering staff, the student will have the opportunity to work on new development projects in an exciting, fast paced environment.

Core Responsibilities and Tasks:
• Testing and troubleshooting support of automotive electronic control units.
• New mechanical packaging research, simulation, and technical data generation.
• Design development activities (such as Modeling, Simulation, & Product Validation).
• Preparation and/or modification of mechanical drawings.

Additional Responsibilities:
• Learn and apply engineering and quality procedures.

Required Qualifications:
• Must be enrolled in a US accredited degree program majoring in Mechanical Engineering and must have completed at least the freshman year.
• Must maintain a minimum GPA of a 2.8

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with mechanical modeling and simulation tools. Strong computer stills.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
