Job Description

The Optics group for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) is looking to strengthen our team with a highly motivated and technically skilled intern. This intern will work closely with engineers to aid on test and characterization of optical components, diode lasers, and solid­state lasers.

• Characterize MTF of optical systems
• Characterize the performance of lasers over a large number of variables
• Power, efficiency, thermal range, pulse shape vs Q­switch density, crystal dopant %, pump lens, diode type.
• Develop test automation
• Support optical engineers and test team in fabrication of custom test fixtures
• Support camera testing

Job Requirements
• Work experience: none
• Academic degree: not required
• Programming language experience (LabView, Matlab, Python, Mathematica, Visual Basic, etc.)
• Office Software: Intermediate
• Lab experience: use of oscilloscopes, multimeters, optical meters, opto­mechanics
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
• Minimum GPA of 2.8
• Must be actively enrolled in an accredited university degree program for the duration of the internship program
• Junior standing or higher - Physics or EE student
• Must work a minimum of 16 hours a week.
• You must be able to start immediately – this position is not a summer internship only.
