Lab Technician Job description

Lab technicians are responsible for collecting all samples and testing both processed and none processed fabric.
Lab Technicians go to the production area collect samples from full yarn packages, and run twist checks.

None Processed Fabric Testing
Operator picks up the full yarn package, places it on mobile test table and removes yarn to perform test.

Operator removes a 24 inch piece of yarn form the bobbin and places it in the twist check machine, hit the start button and it gives the twist count. Operator records data and proceeds to the next bobbin.

The ICBT full bobbins weigh between 20 to 24 pounds depending on the style.

Operator repeats this procedure on 15 to 20 styles per shift in the production area.

Processed Fabric Testing

Operator takes a sample from at processed roll or fabric , cuts out a section to prepare for testing.
Operator prepares mold to perform test.
Adhesion Press is opened and mold removed from test machine,
Mold top is removed and rubber strips are placed in both the top and bottom of mold.
Cord pieces approximate 8 inches long are placed on top of the rubber
The mold top is then put back together and placed in the press.
Samples are processed and fabric from the mold is removed and tested for tensile strength.

Note: Mold weight is approximated 14 Lbs. (7 lbs. top and 7 Lbs. for the bottom.)

This process is repeated approximately 8 times per day.
