Job Description

Overview:
In this role, the incumbent will perform MES analyst and development duties in support and delivery of advanced manufacturing and quality systems. He or she will take part in the development, analysis and programming of our MES IT manufacturing solution CGMS (Continental Global Manufacturing Systems) on schedule and in accordance with client requirements and global standards. The incumbent will work with all areas of the shop floor and its integration to other shop floor and ERP systems to support manufacturing process and operational needs for:
• Tire production – Shop Floor Integration of the Extrusion/Preparation, Tire Build and Curing Areas
• Mixing Production – Shop Floor Integration of the Mixing Area
• Final Finish Quality ­ Material Control and Traceability
• Warehouse Delivery to support Shipping
Because of the nature of this business (i.e. manufacturing 24x7) a successful candidate is expected to perform after hours or holiday support.
Core Responsibilities:

Material Flow Control for Continental Tires
1. Maintenance/Support:
• Support the full system lifecycle, including the design, development, interfaces, test, validation and implementation of new requirements.
• Second level support for system operation and error diagnostics
• Handling of Incident and Problem tickets and Change Requests
• Coordination with global operations & support team & third level support for EWM/PP

2. Product Development/Optimization:
• Development of an EWM//PP solution to optimize material flow efficiencies within an integrated quality system
• Collaboration with the Americas plant key users and with global operation & support team for issue resolution or solution enhancement
• Design, development and implementation of the interfaces to other MES components, as well as to specification and planning systems.
• Basic system administration tasks, e.g. user access rights, server monitoring , logging and configuration
• Improve performance of load processes by optimizing process design
3. Project Work:
• Provide technical expertise in the design, development and implementation of the standard system in our manufacturing plants worldwide
• Coordinate/manage projects in plants, including integration into the existing IT landscape and deliver technical and training documentation
• New use cases / plant roll­out and incorporate continuous enhancement of MI solution from product optimization tasks
• Coordination/execution and control of test case catalog for new releases

Basic Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years of work experience
• 2 – 3 years of experience in design and implementing Development and Support in Manufacturing environment.
• Intermediate Database and SQL knowledge
Preferred Requirements:

• 5 years of experience in design and implementation Development and Support in Manufacturing environment.

• Programming skills and knowledge in OPC / PLC technology is a plus
• Multi­lingual skills a plus, Spanish; German or Portuguese
• recently demonstrated experience in a consultative or operational role developing within a large global enterprise customer, preferably for Manufacturing.
