Job Description

Provide the necessary packaging engineering skills to support the company in achieving optimal levels of safety, quality, productivity and delivery to assure internal and external customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions:
• Design and develop packaging materials, solutions and processes to meet product and marketing requirements, customer needs and manufacturing capabilities.
• Responsible for all approvals and improvements of supplier packaging during SCR
• Drive continuous improvement on packaging designs (cost, quality, density, stack ability) and standardization on customer & supplier side
• Standardization of sizes & variants of all packaging materials (cardboard, totes, pallets, etc.)
• Planning and review of total cost of packaging material (budget planning)
• Key contact and support for all topics regarding packaging for plant Seguin
• Entry point for packaging topics for BU, NPM PUR & SCMA
• Supplier management of packaging suppliers

Additional Functions:
• Maintain awareness of trends and technologies at the forefront of packaging.
• Work with cross functional teams and provide packaging engineering/manufacturing expertise to help commercialize new products within cost/time targets.
• Work with packaging suppliers and vendors to develop packaging solutions.

Basic Qualifications:
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Thorough knowledge of shipping guidelines, quality, and inventory warehousing standards.
• Bachelor of Science in Packaging, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or similar degree is required.

• Must have legal authorization to work in the US without company sponsorship. Applicants must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior automotive packaging or semi¬conductor experience.
• Solid works or other similar 3D electronic drafting experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
• Strong time management skills that enable on ¬time project delivery

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work 24/7 to support manufacturing operations (night shift as necessary)
Stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, and handle items up to 28 lbs.
