Job Description

Responsible for sourcing information and coordinating actions to ensure the availability of technical solutions for competitive products in The Americas. Act as technical technology liaison between central R&D and regional Tire Tech team. Create and maintain regional competitive landscape overview and Continental brands positioning.

Lead problem solving projects for technology topics. Leads activity in application engineering, including compiling and analyzing market data, performance prediction, and general project management for current initiatives. Responsible for driving direction and coordinating strategic initiatives, projects, and process improvement for the department. Liaises with key departments and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and alignment with other areas of the business

• Manages the development and implementation process of a company’s products and services. Coordinates departmental or cross functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products. Monitors the project from initiation through delivery including planning and directing schedules and monitoring budget/spending. Organizes cross functional activities, ensuring completion of the project i.e. product on schedule and within budget constraints.
Market knowledge:
• Ensure the availability of market knowledge necessary to initiate the development of platforms or technologies
• Ensure the availability of knowledge about Conti product performance in the market
• Ensure an overview of the competitive landscape (technical trends, SWOT of competitor product performance, ..) incl. an identification of the relevant competitors for The Americas
• Generation and documentation of market and application knowledge
Requirement setting for technical solutions:
• Coordinate the requirement setting based on conclusions on e.g. market understanding, competitor assessment, legal trends to ensure the availability of technical solution
• Development of technical strategic direction in cooperation with the regional development team, Brand Management and the consideration of business intelligence input
• Ensure the initiation of development of technical solutions (technologies, platforms, ..) for a competitive product portfolio
• Ensure the alignment with the requirements given from other regions to the highest possible consolidation level within R&D
Monitoring of development tasks relevant for product development The Americas:
• Ensure the prioritization of all The Americas related development tasks within other departments outside PDTT
• Ensure transparent reporting on running development activities within central R&D to the satellite development team
• Coordinates and leads development of strategic initiatives, CBS projects, and R&D Projects.
• Provides regular operational and strategic support to build relationships and communication with other areas of the business.
• Coordinates internal R&D systems locally and acts as a key user.
• Develops and manages administration of local training (including onboarding and induction) to R&D, as well driving development related activity as needed.
Lead problem solving projects/tasks:
• Ensure the initiation and follow up on problem solving activities within R&D for a fast and efficient trouble shooting. Responsible as local PROMT coordinator, including coordinating and training on structured projects under this approach.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical degree
• 2+ years of professional and relevant experience
• Knowledge of Project Management Procedures
• Must be authorized to work in the US without visa or other sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:
• 5+ years of professional and relevant experience
