Job Description

The position of Health and Safety Coordinator Intern / COOP will report to the plant Health and Safety Manager and play an active role in the continuous improvement and strengthening of the plant safety culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not all inclusive)
• Assist H&S manager in reviewing, revising, and updating policies/procedures
• Conduct weekly safety audits by dept.
• Assist with accident investigations down to root cause with corrective actions.
• Investigate near misses and document recommendations.
• Provide feedback to employees and ensure safe work behaviors.
• Conduct and review JSA/JHA as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements • Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
• Jr/Sr in 4-year Health and Safety program.
• Must hold GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Must be able to work flexible hours.
