Job Description

SUMMARY
Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of automotive transmission actuators. The variety of electronic actuators includes shift, park, and range selectors. Additionally will support hydraulic actuators for clutch control and Gerotor pumps.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
•Multi-functional team collaboration responsible for the development of transmission actuators.
•Integration of motor, gear set and electronic packaging to effectively achieve actuator performance and meet temperature, vibration, sealing and thermal cycle requirements.
•Requirements management, concept development, DFMEAs, component assembly tolerance analysis, engineering evaluation testing, CAD Design, supplier interface design consideration, and validation support.
•Work closely with manufacturing process engineers to develop new platform designs.
•Engineer will work on platform design development to standardize mechanical components for reuse.
•Document and coach platform design concepts to mechanical engineers and project team.
•Support hydraulic system design and validation of manifolds and pumps.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering.
• 4+ Years Proficiency in:
-Design and development of gear drives to meet the automotive or commercial vehicle equipment industry standards.
-Design of compound and planetary gearboxes using electric motors as driving input.
-CAD software using automotive/commercial vehicle best practices and industry standards.
-Gear analysis software for developing gearbox designs, incorporating design of:
-Gear parameters such as tooth profiles and durability
analysis.
-Shafts & bearings sizing.
-Gear pair contact for noise and vibration potential
(NVH).
-Gear material selection and heat treatment
requirements.
• Motor sizing for load requirements with or without gearbox.
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Technical writing and fluency in English communication.

• Master's degree.
• 5+ Years Proficiency in:
