Job Description

The Design to Cost Engineering Manager is responsible manage all activities which leads to cost improvements in a given design. In this role he triggers investigations for less expensive design approaches. He also works with the supply chain to achieve cost improvements. He continuously consolidates and monitors the current achievements.

Manage Cost Improvement Measures:
• Finding cost improvements with the engineering domains involved
• Trigger investigation to prove the cost improvements
• Follow up on the activities
• Estimate potential cost improvements of the activities

Cost improvement in the supply chain:
• Finding cost improvements at the suppliers involved
• Trigger investigation to prove the cost improvements
• Follow up on the activities
• Estimate potential cost improvements of the activities
Cost improvements in the manufacturing:
• Finding cost improvements in the manufacturing
• trigger investigation to prove the cost improvements
• follow up on the activities
• estimate potential cost improvements of the activities
Reporting:
• Create regular reports on cost improvements
• Presenting reports Job Requirements Basic Qualifications:
• Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanics, Industrialization or Physics
• 10+ years of work experience in the product design of electro-optical systems
• Must understand automotive standards and requirements
• Minimum 3 years of experience in management positions
• Must be a team player with excellent communication skills.
• Good communication, team and presentation skills
• Willingness to work in a distributed global team environment
