Senior Staff Quality Engineer (Continental Automotive Systems, Inc., Newport News, VA. Multiple Openings.) In the Engine Systems business unit, implement and track corrective actions related to customer returns and maintain the external performance matrix for customer measurables. Monitor, create and apply procedures, quality methods, and tools related to Fuel Injectors and Fuel Rail assembly products, according to manufacturing needs. Monitor adherence to defined processes daily during series production by reviewing process performance data and working with manufacturing personnel. Resolve quality issues using 8D problem solving method. Track and release any product/process/supplier deviation requests on Fuel Injectors and Fuel Rail assembly lines. Review all P-FMEA risk and actions in order to reduce high risk priority numbers (RPN). Submit PPAP packages and obtain customer releases for engineering changes on Fuel Injector and Fuel Rail assembly products or processes. Prepare and participate in customer process/product audits and visits to ensure customer requirements fulfillment. Job Requirements Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent. Requires five (5) years quality engineering experience in the automotive industry to include five (5) years: automotive quality management tools and standards (AIAG Requirements, Six Sigma, ISO / TS 16949, SPC and Capability Indices); product specifications and drawings with GD&T; Process Flow Charts, FMEAs, Control Plans and SAP software; and 8D problem solving techniques (Is/Is not, Ishikawa diagram and 5 Why) including DOE.
