Job Description

Continental Engineering Services (CES) is seeking a Controls/Software Engineer to perform basic software, application software, or algorithm activities for various in­vehicle automotive electronics from the Continental portfolio. Work location may be in Deer Park, IL or Auburn Hills, MI

Core Responsibilities:
• Responsible to support the software development team
• Creation of software modules for various Automotive Products
• Provide support to application teams for identification of root cause for issues and corrective action plans.
• Responsible for the software modules/ sub­systems products developed by CES.
• Participate in technical discussions (prepare / present responses) with customers.
• Support in­vehicle and bench testing
• Can work independently and/or within a team environment

Additional Responsibilities:
• Ensure all aspects of production processes for software and calibration programming are properly verified and validated.
• Responsible for development of new products, and changes to existing products
• Assistance with other tasks as needed and determined by Management.
• Occasionally provide technical leadership and mentor personnel within the department.

Core Capabilities:
• Experience with Automotive Electronic/Electromechanical Products
• Experience developing embedded software for 8 – 32­bit microcontrollers
• Proficient in C­programming
• Basic/Good debugging skills
• Good communication skills with CES team, internal & external customers
• Knowledge through extensive directly related experience
• Creates value through the ability to integrate knowledge from different areas of specialized knowledge Issue resolution/ Analytical skills

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline
• At least 2+ years of embedded software development
• Open to working in Deer Park, IL or Auburn Hills, MI
• Demonstrated experience with debugging, in-vehicle and bench testing, and product development
• Experience with C, INCA, Configuration Management Software, CAN communication, Lauterbach, Trace 32
• Must be willing to travel (approx. 20%) supporting internal and customer development trips

Preferred Qualifications:
• Masters degree in Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in automotive industry.
• Experience with embedded software architecture
• Experience with Transmission Calibration
• Experience with Transmission/Engine controls and SW development
• Experience with Matlab, Simulink, Code generation tools (TargetLink, Embedded coder)
