Job Description

SUMMARY

Seeking a highly motivated and experienced mechanical engineer to support design, development, and maintenance of automotive pressure sensor designs.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

•Support design and development of mechanical engineering for automotive pressure sensing applications.
•Creates CAD models and drawings. Perform releases into PDM database systems.
•Presents designs to larger team and takes feedback positively to make necessary changes for robust, manufactureable designs.
•Draws conclusions and creates reports of findings.
•Conducts experiments using statistical tools and techniques to confirm hypotheses. Draws conclusions and creates reports of findings.
•Develops and presents test plans and schedules. Coordinates with testing and data acquisition resources. Evaluates data and draws conclusions based off data.
•Keeps track of multiple projects and works with multiple suppliers simultaneously pushing towards production release or products.
•Supports a typical automotive development launch process by assisting with DFMEA’s (using IQFMEA), control plans, engineering reports, and product documentation.
•Supports Supplier Quality Management and product teams to audit and develop suppliers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

•Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
•2+ years of relevant experience.
•Good interpersonal/communication skills and ability to operate within a team environment.
•Good organization/time management skills, including daily/weekly planning.
•Expert computer skills including CAD(Pro-Engineer/CREO) and common office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project,…).
•Experience with data acquisition systems (DAQ).
•Experience with product design of injection or insert molded parts, machined components, or other small electronics packaging.
•Report writing and ability to present results and conclusions in an organized manner to fellow engineers, managers, and customers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Master's Degree.
•4+ years of relevant experience.
•Understanding of manufacturing processes and process capabilities for the component s and product assembly methods. Processes may include and are not limited to:
•Injection molding, metal stamping, plating methods,
•Additive manufacturing and rapid prototyping
methods
•Joining methods: Welding (laser, vibration,
resistance,…), brazing, adhesives.
