Overview:

Role: Software Architect
The candidate will be part of the Continental Automotive Deer Park Software Development team with a focus on development, validation, and launch of Infotainment and Connectivity products for the automotive market. The SW Architect defines concepts and describes SW Architecture in a project or a platform project based on the requirements defined by the customer or a customer project and based on the input of System Architects. He/she decomposes the product into components, defines the interfaces, dynamic behavior and resource consumption target. He/she supports and reviews the software design, implementation and test cases.

Core Responsibilities:

• Elaborate and define product and platform concepts for the SW domain during envision­, RFI­, RFQ­ and development phases based on defined requirements and constraints. Consider different alternatives for the SW Architecture and select the best one based on defined criteria and cost.
Define, design and describe the product specific architecture in a modular, maintainable and portable way (e.g. SW­ADD, Rhapsody Model, Drawings)
• Develop high level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility
• Collaborate with other professionals to determine functional and non­functional requirements for new software or application.
• Use tools and methodologies to create representations for functions and user interface of desired product
• Own the specifications of interface between software modules. Consider the upstream/downstream interfaces of the product at her/his area
• Define and break down memory and performance requirements for each software domain
• Define SW integration strategy and tests and support integrator / tester
• Make sure that product architecture meets requirements with respect to functionality, performance, quality and schedule
• Support the problem resolution process including analysis, debugging with appropriate log & trace.
• Responsible for set­up and tracking of stability and performance issues
• Maybe responsible for the development of key software modules
• Take part in project planning and estimation process
• Work together with System and SW Architects to ensure the whole product performs according to requirements
• Prepare and support architectural solutions for the CCB in case of change requests, which require an architectural modification
• Establish and maintain traceability between requirements and architecture
• Inspect the traceability within design, implementation and test.
• Participate in software product launch gate reviews.
• Participate in software design and code reviews.
• Provide technical guidance to software developers and engineers
• Oversee progress of development team to ensure consistency with initial design

Job Requirements :

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor in Engineering (e.g. computer science, software engineering)
• 5+ years of embedded software engineering experience
• 5+ years of experience in software development C++
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of software engineering principles and techniques
• Process oriented and experienced with automotive validation processes
• Strong leader, communication skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to work in a diverse environment
• Knowledge of Rhapsody and/or other modeling / design tools

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Engineering
• Knowledge of Automotive ASPICE practices and tools
• Minimum of 5 years in embedded Linux
• Minimum of 7+ years with C/C++ development
• Ability to travel internationally
• Automotive experience a plus
