JOB SUMMARY:
Corporate-level Supplier Quality Engineer responsible for supporting the global organization with supplier selection, qualification and monitoring activities meeting both internal and customer requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY:
• Understand and guide suppliers in the use and development of Quality Tools in accordance with customer requirements (e.g. APQP, PPAP and FMEA)
• Serve as a resource for escalation of Quality and Delivery issues resulting in Supplier Corrective Action
• Interface with supply base personnel and facilitate the resolution of quality issues and concerns in a timely manner
• Completion of on-site supplier audits with a focus on assessing the supplier's risk to product non-conformity, their management system, as well as their internal approach to decision making
• Participate in qualification, transition, and onboarding of direct material suppliers
• Lead problem solving efforts relating to Supplier quality issues
• Manage related containment activities as required
• Interaction and support with internal plant personnel
Job Requirements Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes
Knowledge and experience with Quality Management Systems (e.g. VDA, IATF, ISO)
Lead auditor certification and experience auditing a plus
Ability to communicate with multiple levels of business personnel
Proficient with Microsoft Applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Effective communication and organizational skills
Experience with Automotive OEM customers and product launches
Ability to travel 40-50% both domestic and international
