Job Description

The Morganton plant produces next generation brake systems for the automotive market. This facility is expanding production capabilities, this growth has created several new positions with the facility. Continental started its 82,000-square-foot expansion project that is slated to produce about 150 new full-time jobs over the next 12 months.

As the SQ Team Lead you will play a key role in leading the Team in the success of Continental Morganton by insuring the quality and timeliness of supplied components for our Electronic Suspension Systems business. This is critical to the operation's ability to meet the high expectations set by ourselves and our customers.

Core Responsibilities
As a working Team Lead ensure the following activities are successfully performed:
APQP activities supporting the sourcing of new components. Evaluate PPAP submissions and safeguard the timely implementation of Engineering changes and New Products.
Quality representation for sourcing process of new and existing suppliers and components.
Ensure proper assessments of supplier through KPI tracking, audit processes, and support continuous improvement efforts.
Ensure proper problem solving of supplier related issues.
Visit supplier sites to ensure adherence to established controls and processes, review of corrective actions, and perform run at rates.
Perform and / or assist regular VDA audits of suppliers.
Organize and allocate resources to ensure optimal functioning of the SQ Team.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor degree in a technical discipline
Demonstrated ability to successfully lead others.
Strong problem solving skills and communication skills.
Knowledge of ISO and/or TS16949 standards.
Ability to travel 30-50% of the time
3 + years experience in a Manufacturing Environment in a Manufacturing or Quality role.
Proficient knowledge in the following mechanical processes: extrusion, plastic injection molding, forging, and stamping.

Working knowledge of SQM tools as prescribed in Continental’s Pkit. (I.e. ME, SCR, SupplyOn APQP, Run at Rate, Safe Launch, MLC, and Problem solver (8D).
